Sedona International Film Festival
For those who enjoy a good story, the Sedona International Film Festival is a highlight of the local calendar. Its annual program brings independent features, documentaries, shorts, and animation to the community, along with workshops and conversations with filmmakers. It is an opportunity to discover a new perspective and share the experience with other film lovers.
The next annual festival is scheduled for February 20-28, 2027. Visit the official festival website for programming and ticket information.
Sedona Mountain Bike Festival
Outdoor recreation is part of everyday life here, and the Sedona Mountain Bike Festival celebrates that connection. Cinco de Mayo at Tlaquepaque
Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village brings music, food, and Mexican dance traditions together for its annual Cinco de Mayo celebration. The village's courtyards and walkways offer an inviting setting for an afternoon of cultural festivities, with galleries and shops to explore along the way.
The celebration does not necessarily fall on May 5; consult Tlaquepaque's event calendar for the scheduled date.
Sedona Plein Air Festival
Each fall, the Sedona Plein Air Festival offers a chance to see the landscape through an artist's eyes. Presented by Sedona Arts Center, the event brings artists to Sedona and the surrounding Verde Valley to paint outdoors. Paint-outs, demonstrations, and opportunities to watch works take shape make this a particularly engaging way to experience the area's creative community.

Sedona Arts Festival
The Sedona Arts Festival is a longstanding fall tradition with a mission that extends beyond the artwork: supporting arts education in the greater Sedona area. For residents who appreciate collecting art or supporting creative opportunities locally, it is an event worth following.
Planning note: The October 2026 festival was canceled due to weather. Check the official festival website for future announcements before making plans.
Day of the Dead at Tlaquepaque
In the fall, Tlaquepaque honors Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican tradition celebrating and remembering loved ones who have passed. The village also hosts the Marigold Mural Project, inviting guests to contribute painted tributes to a community remembrance wall. These gatherings offer a meaningful opportunity for reflection and connection.
Visit Tlaquepaque's calendar for dates and details for each event.
Holiday Tree Lighting
The annual tree lighting at Tlaquepaque North brings families and friends together for seasonal entertainment, children's activities, hot chocolate, and a visit from Santa. It is an easy way to welcome the holidays and enjoy an evening out in the community.
The 2026 tree lighting is scheduled for December 4. Confirm times and event information with Tlaquepaque before attending.
